Non-Profit Strategy

Driving Support for Federal Transportation Investments

Diamond Strategies was contracted by Transit Choices – a non-profit, Baltimore-based transit coalition – to apply for an American Public Transportation Association (APTA) local impact grant and implement a proposed digital education campaign on federal transportation investments in Baltimore. Diamond Strategies successfully crafted a winning grant application, securing $10,000 for the campaign. In conjunction with Fells Cobble – a digital advertising firm – the team developed a variety of Facebook advertisement and messaging themes to educate Baltimoreans about the then-Trump Administration’s proposed cuts to federal transportation programs over a six-week period.

The digital campaign generated 175 grassroots letters to Congress advocating for continued federal investments in transportation. Diamond Strategies also organized a Washington advocacy day for Transit Choices leadership to deliver the letters personally and discuss Baltimore’s transportation challenges and opportunities with Members of Congress and staff. Transit Choices investment in a digital campaign also assisted the organization in growing its digital brand – as over 4,000 unique users engaged with campaign content, which generated 228 new likes for Transit Choices’ digital assets.
